Help provide transportation assistance to 100 people per year.
In 2009 the Cars Ministry was started as a community outreach to provide oil changes and free vehicle inspections to financially strapped households in Berrien County. Nine years later the Cars Ministry has evolved to providing vehicles, at a minimal cost, and mechanical repairs for simply the cost of parts. Since its founding, the program has positively impacted over 100 lives through the services provided. However, as the Cars Ministry grew so did the demand for its services, with some clients waiting over 6 months for help.
That's all about to change. New Heights has identified a building that will set the program on a growth-track and will allow for 100 people a year to be served. In addition to increasing the impact of the program the new building will allow for the creation of a social enterprise which will make the Cars Ministry financially sustainable, which will allow this program to serve hundreds of people for years to come.
